The snow was not completely blinding as it drifted through the air, but it had fallen thickly enough to obscure any path they might have found on the ground. With the weight of their handlers upon their backs as a constant reminder, all were determined to get home – and in decent time too. This was a very important test for them, and doing well would make them proud, as well as earn praise form their handlers. Layla was simply excited to be out and about, seeing the prowess she would earn from this rite as a bonus. Shaghani and her handler found themselves discounted with taking the straightest root they could find and instead wound up climbing on and over things. Fleur, while excited by the prospect of adventure – was cold.
